Beaches

Castrillon is known as "the council of the seven beaches", even though it’s home to many more. You can easily access all of Castrillon's beaches from the campsite, some by foot and others by car. The farthest beach is only 10 minutes away.

SANTA MARIA DEL MAR BEACH

This urban cove is right in front of our campsite and is ideal for families. It’s a great place for children to go swimming! To the right is La Ladrona islet. Legend says a giant squid lives inside its caves.

BAYAS BEACH

This Natural Monument’s 3-km. stretch of sand is the longest in Asturias and is one of the few beaches on the Cantabrian Sea that has waves every day. The eastern side of the beach is an area called Los Requexinos, its surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape and is frequented by nudists. It’s just a 5-minute drive from the campsite. Part of this area is apt for dogs.

SALINAS BEACH

This is one of the longest beaches in Asturias and is very popular with tourists. It's urban, has a long promenade and is fully equipped with all modern comforts. On top of that, it’s perfect for surfing. This beach is Blue Flag certified and is only a 5-minute drive or bus ride from the campsite.

SAN JUAN BEACH

This beach is absolutely stunning. Its sandy stretch is known for its dune system, which has been declared a Natural Monument. The dunes separate the beaches of San Juan and Salinas. It’s also Blue Flag certified.

ARNAO BEACH

This beach is calm and quiet, resting in the shadows of a restored mining headframe. A tide pool called "La Hollina" is formed on the beach during low tide. You can walk here from the campsite on the Northern Coastal Route (Senda Costera Norte).

BAHINAS BEACH, MUNIELLES BEACH AND REGUERO BEACH

These small and secluded coves are surrounded by beautiful scenery and are perfect for children.

OTHER BEACHES CLOSE TO OUR CAMPSITE ARE:

SAN ESTEBAN / EL ESPIGON BEACH

The San Esteban de Pravia port’s breakwater and coastline cliffs shelter this tiny cove. It’s also surrounded by the only salt-water pools in all of Asturias, and the beginning of the Viewpoint Route (Ruta de los Miradores).

LAS LLANAS BEACH

An isolated and quiet spot surrounded by vertical cliffs. One part of the beach is only accessible during low tide.

DEL AGUILAR BEACH

This beach stands out for its giant, breath-taking rocks sitting right on the coast. It’s the perfect spot to anchor recreational crafts. It has a small promenade and is another starting point for the Viewpoint Route (Ruta de los Miradores). It’s also Blue Flag certified.
